The Last Try performance by John Kirk at City Library and Keighley Library

Bradford Libraries is delighted that we can offer schools four performances with professional storyteller and actor John Kirk. He will be performing "The Last Try" by Tom Palmer, a true story of a WW1 hero, Jack Harrison, awarded the Victoria Cross for bravery.

As well as watching the performance, the children will have the opportunity to ask John Kirk questions relating to the story.  Also as part of the session the children will have the opportunity to have a "hands on" rag rug making session, with the WW1 Commemoration Reading Rug.  To date 800 + children have taken part and their names will be recorded .

The details of the performances are:

Date:   Tuesday 23 February 2016

Time:   9.30am – 11.30am and 1.15pm – 2.45pm

Location:  City Library, Centenary Square, Bradford BD1 1SD

and

Date:   Wednesday 24 February 2016

Time:   9.30am – 11.30am & 1.15pm – 2.45pm

Location:   Keighley Library, North St, Keighley      

For each session there are places for 60 children from two schools.  We will offer one place (30 children max) per school. The sessions are suitable for Years 4, 5 or 6 and are free of charge.
