Innovation Services

Innovation Services is part of Bradford Council’s IT Services and comprises of The Innovation Centre Bradford (TICB), the Bradford Learning Network (BLN) and the Curriculum ICT team (CICT). We are a cost recovery organisation bringing together the experience and expertise of a number of educationalists, learning and teaching consultants, learning technologists and media professionals to consult on a wide range of educational projects and initiatives.  The service is managed by Paul Scott.

The Bradford Learning Network is a not for profit provider of education focused internet for schools. The Innovation Centre and Curriculum ICT team work very closely with the BLN ensuring that the broadband provision is used to maximum effect across the Bradford district to support raising attainment across all phases.

The Innovation Centre is a state of the art facility comprising a training room, a research and development area and cybercafé. Services include digital loan boxes, laser etching and video creation. Staff at the centre are highly experienced with respect to mobile devices/learning and can support partners to deploy, manage and utilise appropriate mobile devices securely across an organisation.

The Curriculum Innovation team is made up of highly experienced consultants with many years of teaching experience. The team has been delivering high quality training and support to schools and other partners in Bradford and the local region for over 15 years and has a national reputation for leading innovation in the education sector. Besides having specialist knowledge of the Computing Curriculum they also have a track record of raising attainment across the curriculum through the effective use of new and emerging technologies. Members of the team are accredited trainers for Into Film, CEOP, Google and are SWGfL 360ºsafe Online Safety Mark assessors.

Recent initiatives include working with Bradford City of Film, British Film Institute and Cape UK on raising attainment in writing through the ‘Media Literacy Leaders programme’ and working with a range of partners on a national Digital Leaders programme.
