Looked After Children Education Awards Event: Nomination Form details

The Annual Awards Event for Looked After Children is taking place at The University of Bradford on Saturday 22 November. The Lord Mayor, Children's Services Directors and Councillors will be in attendance along with parents, carers and social workers.

All schools will receive an email with a request to comple a Nomination Form for their Looked After Children who have made significant progress, sustained effort and / or achieved expected levels during the past year.

The event is very much about celebrating the contribution that Bradford schools and their teaching and support staff make on a day-to-day basis to this key group of children and young people. The words of encouragement on the Nomination Form from schools are read out as the children receive their certificate from the Lord Mayor. The impact of the event is a very powerful and positive one for all in attendance.

We particularly welcome noninations from primary schools for their Looked After Children in the cohort of pupils who transferred to secondary schools in September of this year. We also wish to recognise the achievements of the Year 1 and Year 2 pupils who achieved the required standard in the Phonics Check.

If you require any further information about the Awards Ceremony please contact the Looked After Children Education Team on 01274 435280 or email fiona.wood@bradford.gov.uk
