‘Excellence and Enjoyment’ Guided Writing Materials for EAL Pupils

Do you want to have specific knowledge and an awareness about the 'Excellence and Enjoyment' guided writing materials. You will get ideas for addressing the grammatical errors some pupils may be making in their use of spoken and written English.

Intended outcomes for learners:

Pupils will apply the aspect of grammar that is needed to write accurately in order to secure progression in their writing from L2 to L4 and onwards.

Intended outcomes for participants:

Teachers will get specific knowledge and an awareness about the 'Excellence and Enjoyment’ guided writing materials which can be used to close gaps in writing for EAL pupils. These materials were published by the National Strategies and known as the 'Grammar for EAL' materials.

Teachers will get ideas for addressing the grammatical errors some pupils may be making in their use of spoken and written English.

Teachers are asked to bring some writing from a group of pupils ( of similar ability) in their classrooms to review and plan a guided writing session based on the above materials.

Planning time will be given in the training.
