Raising Attainment in Number through Effective Use of Technology - 24 Sep

In this Curriculum Innovation course to be held at the Innovation Centre we will use a variety of technologies confidently and appropriately to improve engagement, develop personalised learning and raise attainment in the Number domain of the new Mathematics curriculum.

Through a wealth of custom made online resources teachers will gain the confidence to ensure that the Number domain in the new Mathematics curriculum utilises new and existing technologies relevant to their school setting.

Content of the course:

  • Investigate how to make effective use of a range of technology, content, software and apps including whiteboard software, online content, ITPs and tablet devices (specifically iPads) to model mathematical processes, deconstruct problems and explore abstract concepts relevant to the Number domain of the new computing curriculum.
  • Explore recording pupil activity through digital images and videos to evidence understanding and record progress and ways this content can be made available for peer to peer review.
  • Understand how to create simple 'how to' videos that model mathematical strategies and techniques to share with parents and carers and link them to resources such as working walls using QR codes.

*Please note the content of this one day course is almost identical to Day 2 of the 'Digital Leader in the New Maths Curriculum (Primary)' Three Day Course (IT014P/02).
