Trainee Romani Mentor Opportunity

Do you know of anyone of a Roma ethnic origin who would benefit from this "Positive Action Traineeship"? This is an opportunity to be trained and work in a school as a support person.

The role is to work as a support person (mentor) in a school. They will work under the supervision of the school. They will help improve attendance and achievement of Roma pupils as well as develop positive relationships between school and home. 

The candidate needs to be of Roma origin and can speak a Central & Eastern European language such as Slovak, Czech or Polish. 

The candidate needs to be able to:

  • Use ICT
  • Work as part of a team
  • Be able to listen
  • Build good relationships with school staff and parents
  • Have a good sense of humour
  • Be flexible and willing to change
  • Be friendly and polite.

The candidate also needs to be at least 18 years of age.
