There will again be 3 categories: - age 14 and under (key stage 2 & 3); ages 15 & 16 (key stage 4); and age 17 or 18 (key stage 5).
All ages as at 31st August 2015.
The increase in the number of contestants over the years means that we now plan to judge the youngest age group in the morning; so the
14 and Under Group will begin at 10.00 am and the two older Groups at 2.00 pm.
All performers are free to have a piano accompaniment; however, performers must provide their own accompanist. No recorded accompaniments will be allowed. There is a free choice of music and each performer should choose a piece lasting 4 to 5 minutes, no
longer. A copy of the music performed must be submitted to the judges and may be collected after the competition. All participants will be awarded a certificate and the winners and runners up of each category will receive a cash prize.
Please encourage your talented instrumental and vocalist students to take part this year. The standard was very high last year with one of the Keighley winners going on from the District Final to be runner-up in the Regional Final.
Three winners will be invited to perform at the District Final, which is likely to be held on 7 March 2015 in York. District winners will then be invited to the Regional Final.
Completed entry forms must be returned to me by Saturday, 1st November 2014
