Key Stage 5 and Key Stage 4 results collection Summer 2014

Once again the results season is upon us. Following the letter sent to schools earlier this month, here is a reminder of the 2014 results collection process.

As in past years, 2014 Key Stage 5 and Key Stage 4 results will be collected using the results collection dashboard on BSO. The online system means the results collection process is more efficient, more reliable and enables schools to record and manage submissions in one secure area.

The Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) website states that A Level Results will be with schools on Wednesday 13 August 2014, for release on Thursday 14 August 2014, and end of Key Stage 4 results will be with schools on Wednesday 20 August 2014 for release on Thursday 21 August 2014.

As in 2013, the Key Stage 5 results collection will be split to collect:

  • Results for those students in-line with DfE criteria
  • Results for students outside that criteria

Both sets of data will then be automatically combined so that you can view the overall results for your establishment. Details of the exact criteria can be found on the Key Stage 5 tab of the results collection tool on BSO. When returning Key Stage 5 results please remember to include any banked AS results.

This year, the Key Stage 4 results collection has been altered to collect data in line with the changes the DfE have made to the 2014 Performance Tables, with regard to early entry at GCSE. From 29 September 2013, only a student’s first entry to a GCSE examination will count in their school’s performance tables. Therefore, we have made adjustments to the KS4 results collection to capture this. Please note that this year, we are also asking for a breakdown of results by Pupil Premium. Guidance about the changes can be found on the DfE Performance Tables website. A full summary of the information required is listed below.

Access to the online forms is via the Results Collection Dashboard on BSO. Users require a BSO login to be able to complete the results forms.Guidance is available on how to obtain a login if you don’t already have one.

Once logged in, the results collection dashboard can be found under the ‘Utilities’ section in the centre of the screen.

Schools have been asked to provide contact details for the person(s) responsible for submissions on results days. If your school has not already sent these please email them to imtanalysisteam@braford.gov.uk stating the name, email and direct telephone number of the person(s) responsible.
