The event is intended to bring three days of free street arts entertainment to Shipley residents and, hopefully, visitors from around the Yorkshire region.
One of the main aims of the event has been to engage with members of the local community. As such, we’re very pleased to have been able to involve nine local schools by offering them arts and crafts workshops prior to the event – in which they will create
large-scale sculptures which will be displayed through the festival – and then inviting the children to take part in a parade on Thursday, 26 June, with an opportunity to see their own work alongside that of national and international performers.
We were also able to involve some of the children from Titus Salt School, who worked with Nick Loaring of The Print Project, a local print artist, to create the main poster
for the event, which is being used in all of our advertising.
