Road Safety Sessions for the summer term

The Road Safety Team is now offering a new cycle safe/playsafe session for the summer term for Years 4,5 and 6 as well as a session for nursery and reception.

The new Key Stage 2 session lasts 30 minutes and takes place in the class room. The session explores a child cyclist collision in the Bradford district and the reasons why it occured.  The other reasons why children get hurt on bikes are also covered along with the importance of having a road worthy bike and helmet use.

The session being offered to Nursery and Reception children is the Teddy Takes a Tumble Story Sack session followed by a height and weight check for the children. The children are then given a leaflet to take home containing the information on car seats and the most suitable seat for them.

The height and weight check for child car seats / booster seats is available to all children in school and takes approximately 5-10 minutes per class.
