We have new funding to support schools that currently have no breakfast provision in establishing their own breakfast clubs.
We will provide a year’s worth of free food for use in the breakfast club, as well as essential guidance and expertise. The goal is that, with our help, all the new breakfast clubs will be self-sufficient by the end of 2015.
As an independent charity, we’ve spent the last 10 years helping schools feed hungry children through targeted breakfast provision. We currently have 250 partner schools around the country. A Magic Breakfast–supported club has been shown to improve punctuality,
attendance and behaviour, as well as having a positive impact on pupil attainment.
We are a vital part of the School Food Plan, an independent initiative which has the support of Department of Education, to help Head Teachers in improving school food, for healthier children and better academic performance.
It’s through this Plan that Magic Breakfast has just secured the extra funding to support schools that currently have no breakfast provision.
All we ask of schools is a commitment to work with us to ensure we reach all children who may be arriving at school too hungry to learn.
If you have 35% or more Free School Meals and currently do not have a breakfast club, please get in touch as soon as possible.
If you currently do have breakfast provision but feel you may not be reaching all hungry children or are finding it a struggle, please get in touch also. We want to help. We do have a waiting list, but we are getting to schools as fast as funding
