Free educational workshops

The British Red Cross offer free educational workshops in schools; we aim to develop and further young people’s sense of citizenship and their critical thinking on a variety of issues. Also encourage their propensity to act in an emergency and help them to become more resilient in a crisis.

We cover a range of topics:

  • Refugee Awareness and Migration
  • Everyday First Aid
  • HIV Awareness
  • Disasters and emergencies

Through its youth and schools service, the Red Cross can deliver humanitarian education to young people.  We are able to compliment the PSHE and Citizenship, Geography, and History and RE curriculum.  Equally, our education supports outcomes for Every Child Matters (Stay Safe, Enjoy and Achieve, Positive Contribution) and also could contribute towards your work on the Stephen Lawrence Education Standard and Schools of Sanctuary Status.

Our programme is specifically designed to engage young people for the ages of 9 to 19 in schools colleges and other youth provision, where there is an identified need that correlates with our topics.

We try our best to accommodate specific requests, so if you are interested in our service, or would like to know more, get in touch.  Alternatively, please do share the flyer with your colleagues, so they are also aware of our work.

Kind regards
