Have your say on how standards in maths can be developed

The next topic for the district's Public Forum for Education is - How can high standards in mathematics be promoted and supported across the District?

The forum will discuss ways in which maths provision for young people can be broadened and how this impacts on other areas of education. Speakers will focus on:

  • Why achievement in maths is crucial to future success
  • How we can support maths in the home and community

The Public Forum for Education is a fantastic opportunity to hear about and share good practice. Discussions from the forum contribute to policy making in the district, so we want to hear your views. Anyone with an interest is welcome, so please publicise through your networks and bring friends and colleagues.

The forum takes place on Wednesday 23 April 2014 from 4.30pm to 6.30 pm in Conference Room D, Future House, Bolling Road, Bradford BD4 7EB.

Raising educational attainment is one of the Council's top priorities, so it is vital that we share information on how we can develop young people's skills in maths. If you are a parent, young person or practitioner come and add to the debate!

Having good skills in maths is so important if our students are to succeed. This is an opportunity for us to look at good practice and share information so we can improve outcomes for children and young people across the district.
