Outline
Bradford’s Nurture Network is for schools and settings wishing to develop their Nurturing practice. The aim is to provide a platform for staff to share how they embed principles into practice to support vulnerable children who may have experienced early
life trauma and may find it difficult to settle to learn.
Description
The Network will be conducted virtually over MS Teams, once per half term in a late afternoon session between 3.30pm and 4.30pm. The networks are free of charge and are aimed at settings who are interested in any aspect of Nurture, including
the 6 Principles, or who are thinking of setting up a classic Nurture Group.
Outcomes
- Network with like-minded people who are at different stages of implementing Nurturing provision in their settings.
- Exchange ideas and share resources.
- Develop an understanding of what is meant by ‘Nurture’ in the context of working with vulnerable young people.
Please note that our working definition of ‘Nurture’ is to be found on the website provided by Nurture UK:
What is nurture? - NurtureUK
‘The nurturing approach offers a range of opportunities for children and young people to engage with missing early nurturing experiences, giving them the social and emotional skills to do well at school and with peers, develop their resilience and their
capacity to deal more confidently with the trials and tribulations of life, for life.’
