I am getting in touch as the National Railway Museum and the Trans-Pennine STEM Ambassador Hub are teaming up with rail industry partners for Railway Futures, an exciting two-day careers event for students of all ages on 4th – 5th October based at the National Railway Museum.

Railway Futures will showcase the exciting combination of innovation, engineering, and technology in the railways and will look to the future of digital and sustainability within the sector. It will also feature the breadth of careers available in the rail industry, looking at the different sectors and routes into these and make links that young people can follow that connects their learning to a future career path in the sector. Professionals from across the industry will be running interactive sessions, answering questions, and sharing their stories over the two days.

  • Events on the 4th will be focused on online interactive engineering sessions for primary and secondary school students.
  • The Careers Fair on the 5th will allow Further and Higher Education students to meet and network with over 25 organisations from across the rail sector including Network Rail, Siemens and LNER.

With so many companies and organisations taking part both days it would be a brilliant opportunity for students. It would be great if you could promote this opportunity with your networks.

Bookings will go live for the livestreamed sessions late next week - email Abbie at abbie.smy@railwaymuseum.org.uk for more information on this but you can also find out more about the event and how to book here: https://www.railwaymuseum.org.uk/learning/railway-futures.

Best wishes,

Abby
