Young people on the Kickstarters scheme at Bradford Council's Youth Service in Keighley are putting on a brilliant Culture Festival at Keighley Creative on Saturday July 16th from 11am to 6pm.

The event aims to bring together all ages and families to celebrate the vast creative and cultural talent of the people of Keighley and the surrounding areas. We also hope to bring unity to Keighley and break down any stereotypes that others may have of a culture/community.

Come and experience delicious Pay as you feel food from The Good Food Project, live performance from Punjabi Roots Academy, a bollywood performance from Deeba, a performance by Will from Waterlemon Music, live poetry from; .noor, Bernie the Bolt Punk Poet and Barbra Howerska, a Tai Chi workshop with Val Preston, a community jukebox (bring your own vinyl to spin!), films from; People library, Refugee film festival and Scott Coulthard.

There will also be traditional Bangladeshi games, Collage Your Culture with Keighley Library Create Connect Make project with artist Jean McEwan, Arabic Calligraphy workshop with Farzana Khan, local artists stalls inlcuding Kindred Bizarre, Rambling Arts and Rugged Raven Creations, henna artists, and a tombola to raise money for those affected by the floods in the Sylhet region of Bangladesh. We're looking for donations from a tin of beans to a cuddly toy! Donations for the tombola can be dropped off at Keighley Young People's Centre, Parkwood Street by Friday 15 July.
