There are also a few dates for smaller groups (approx. 12 young people) and it is possible that we could find alternative dates for stays at Grinton YHA if neither of the above dates were possible for a suitable school.
Both are for up to 35 children and 5 adults, they include accommodation, bedding, an evening meal, breakfast and lunch on day 2 and all activities. All equipment and materials are provided. We could make a contribution towards transport costs if that was
essential. The school needs to provide a packed lunch and drink for the first day. The residentials are for children aged 8 upwards, Grinton is suitable for year 5 upwards. The places are for schools whose children would not otherwise be able to experience
a night in a National Park.
The outline format for the residentials is:
Day 1 Arrive at Youth Hostel. YDNPA staff will run activities for the children until 4pm. Exact sessions dependent on arrival time, but will be on natural history / habitats / navigation themes
Evening meal followed by a night-time activity run by YDNPA staff
Day 2 Morning session run by YDNPA staff. Exact session dependant on leaving time. Themes similar to the first day.
