We will be doing maintenance to our website systems on Sunday, 31 January. Despite the ongoing situation with Covid-19 it is essential that we maintain the security of our systems. This will help us continue to deliver vital public health messages and information about council services via our website and allow you all to access our services using online forms. The work should be done with little disruption to you and any interruption should be short. If you do have problems accessing the site or something doesn’t work on Sunday, please try again later.
Chaperones are an integral part of the running of the cathedral choir and we are extremely grateful for all their support. The role is wide-ranging and rewarding, especially as the chaperones get to know the choristers better, supporting the children in all their activities at the cathedral.
Their main responsibility is to chaperone rehearsals and choir events involving children on a rostered basis. They are a second adult responsible for the pastoral care and well-being of the under-18s present, and keep an eye out for children who may have any issues. They are both a quiet presence during choir rehearsals and services, and an active staff helper (for example, serving refreshments before rehearsals). The role is voluntary, and can fit around other commitments; however, it is expected that chaperones are willing to be available at least twice a month.
