STEMM Summer School

Join us for the Year 12 STEMM Summer School, from 5th July 2021 to 9th July 2021! 

As part of the programme, you will have the opportunity to meet expert researchers, attend University-based lab sessions, complete experimental design workshops and much more. This week-long summer school will give you a taste of university life and hands-on experience, with the opportunity to ask questions and listen to careers talks from experts in their field.

Who can attend?

The Summer School is aimed at Year 12 students currently studying or interested in progressing to a Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths or Medicine subjects. It is primarily open to Year 12 students , but we are happy to accept Year 13 students subject to availability.

We are working directly with the following schools and colleges in Bradford:

  • Dixons Sixth Form Academy
  • Hanson School
  • Bradford College
  • New College Bradford
  • Beckfoot Thornton School

Where will it be held?

There will be virtual elements to the Summer School, which will be after school hours on your own devices.

There are also on-campus lab sessions, which will be held in accordance with current COVID-19 guidelines and subject to receiving a negative lateral flow test. On-campus events will be kept to school bubbles, and you will receive further information on which days your school or college will be invited to attend once your place has been confirmed.

When is it happening?

The Year 12 STEMM Summer School will take place from Monday 5th July 2021 to Friday 9th July 2021. The virtual elements will be held after school hours from 3pm to 5pm. Your on-campus lab sessions will be held from 10am to 1pm on a specified day.
