Autism research project in Bradford.

The Born in Bradford team are rolling out an innovative research project which uses the EYFS profile scores to screen children for autistic spectrum disorders. The project has a number of aims - to speed up the diagnostic process, to make the process easier for children and families and to assess children whose families may be reluctant to push for assessments. We are asking all primary schools in Bradford to take part. The project focuses on children who are currently in year 1. A sample of children (80) will be selected from the EYFS profile scores to participate in a unique autism screening process. The process takes place on one day, within the school setting and involves three clinicians conducting observations, interviews with parents and diagnostic play based assessments. For further infromation on the project please see the attached sheet. Enquiries to Jo Pike at punch@bthft.nhs.uk  - 07884 266 909.
