Guidance for NQTs and Mentors during Lockdown

Following the national lockdown from 5 Jan 2021, many NQTs and mentors will be wondering how induction will be assessed and evidenced throughout the Spring term. CBMDC Appropriate Body will shortly be publishing a document which will hopefully answer most of these questions.

The document is intended to provide some guidance on activities which NQTs can undertake, methods of support which schools/mentors should consider providing and possible ways to assess and gather evidence of progress against the Teachers’ Standards.

As yet DfE have not released any guidance on supporting induction but should this occur the CBMDC document will be updated accordingly.

The document will be published on NQT Manager and BSO and a further message will be sent to schools to let them know when it is available.

Please bear with us whilst this is prepared. If there are additional questions following the document's release then please contact Michael Garside, but we ask that you wait first for the paper.

Thank you for your patience.
