As the pandemic continues to place strain on us all, we would like to remind you that all Bradford schools are able to access support and training from the Educational Psychology Team through the Mental Health Champions (MHC) Network. Our input this year is focussed on Covid-recovery in terms of mental health and emotional wellbeing.

The MHC training aims to ease some pressure on schools by providing easy to access information, advice and resources that can be used to support children and young people during this time.

Findings from our initial meeting indicate that one of the main areas of difficulty CYP in the district are reporting is the loss of social relationships, and the impact of this on their emotional wellbeing. Consequently, this is the focus of the November/December sessions.

Subsequent sessions will focus on CYP perceptions of falling behind with school work, which is also impacting their emotional wellbeing, and input around staff wellbeing, as feedback locally and nationally suggests that this is becoming an increasing concern.

The next round of training and support sessions is week beginning 30th November.

All current Champions have been emailed the booking information, although we have added this information below for ease of reference.  Schools who do not have a nominated Champion are able to email MHChampions@Bradford.gov.uk to request to join the scheme and/or to obtain further details for booking on to a training session.

Dates and booking details:

All sessions are from 9.30am to 12 noon and are held online via the platform WebEx.

Monday 30th November for schools in the West
