As you prepare to reopen in September, please consider the following:

  • In September, we will be delivering in school in accordance with the most recent government guidelines from week commencing Monday 7th September (unless alternative arrangements have already been made).  The current guidance stipulates that visiting peripatetic staff can be permitted and instrumental specific guidance (including vocal, brass and woodwind work – maximum group size of 15) has been issued by Music Mark, along with guidance for assessing risk to ensure the safety of all concerned and keeping within the DfE guidance to schools surrounding numbers of participants (see risk assessments).  We have updated our risk assessments and are available to download at https://www.bradfordmusiconline.co.uk/site/schools/covid-19-risk-assessments/

(Please ensure you check this page regularly to ensure that you hold the most recent document as all documents will be adjusted as the government guidance is updated)

  • As a part of our risk assessment, we require each school to ensure a member of SLT is available for each visiting member of staff to inform them of in school procedures and risk assessments and you must update each member of staff individually if your risk assessment changes.
  • We have contingency plans in place should a localised lockdown occur and delivery not able to take place (e.g. online provision for small group and individual teaching, alterative whole class delivery where instruments cannot be used, etc).  This also applies for bubble closures.  Should the bubble receiving tuition close, our staff can be utilised to deliver music in other classes during their allocated time slot to ensure your annual delivery.
  • Windstruments are working hard to ensure equipment is in place but please remember that instrument delivery may be delayed as collection could not be carried out correctly during the summer term.  Our staff will deliver an alternative provision in the interim.

We appreciate that this is an unprecedented time for everyone and will do what we can to work alongside you to ensure the best outcome for the children of the district.

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Many thanks,

Carl White
