As schools open up for more children we appreciate the challenges you will face in placing measures around social distancing.

With that in mind the Road Safety Team will not be delivering any sessions this academic year. We are providing teacher led presentations.

Our Transition Package is a power point presentation aimed at year 6 pupils moving on to year 7. This age group is vulnerable to road accidents therefore preparing them for the journey to their new school is extremely important.

The Road Safety Team has signed up to 'RouteGuard' this is an app which enables the parent to plan a walking route with their child, the parent can set parameters to the route; if the child deviates from the given route the parent is alerted. We are encouraging all Primary and Secondary schools to sign up including SEN establishments for those students who make some independent journeys.

Information for parents of new children (Reception age) starting school in September would normally be sent out in June, this will now go out in September.

Bradford Council's Highways Services Team has produced artwork on 'social distancing' which can be copied and displayed at school entrances. The signs can be put on railings but should not be placed on the highways or attached to lamp posts.

For any traffic or road safety related queries including requesting our 'Transition Package', for more detailed information on 'RouteGuard' or to request the artwork please email us:
