Phased opening of schools, colleges and nurseries

The Department for Education has published guidance on how educational and childcare settings should prepare for wider opening from 1 June 2020.

The documents set out the overarching aims and principles of the next phase, including information about protective measures which will be in place.

DfE has also published guidance on implementing protective measures in education and childcare settings. This contains detailed advice for settings on:

  • cleaning, including supplies of cleaning and handwashing products
  • testing and tracing
  • PPE
  • what settings should do in response to a case of COVID-19 being confirmed
