Encourage children to be researchers, discoverers and creators of their own and others’ learning, within a lesson or series of lessons, which encapsulate a learning aim or objective.

Rachel Wood - Educational Development Consultant for Saltaire Stories, is offering English booster workshops for Year 6.  She is a qualified secondary English and Drama teacher and has worked in high achieving, as well as challenging, primary and secondary schools.  She has a brilliant track record for delivering targeted interventions; accelerating children's progress within assessment by making learning of English skills, creative, fun and relevant to children.

Rachel, who has full DBS and public liability insurance, is keen to work with primary schools, to offer bespoke intervention packages (a weekly session over a half-termly or termly period), which will help develop specific reading, writing and SPaG skills by using arts based learning and resources that are connected to local heritage.

By working for the Saltaire Collection, Rachel has access to thousands of real archive sources - letters, photographs, newspaper articles and much more, which date back to the early 19th Century, for Saltaire and the Bradford District.  There are sources and items from the past, which mixed with children's personal interests from the present, will encourage children to be researchers, discoverers and creators of their own and others' learning, within a lesson or series of lessons, which encapsulate a learning aim or objective.
