The Innovation Centre Bradford is hosting a number of National Centre for Computing Education bursary-funded computing CPD sessions.

Teaching and Leading Key Stage 1 Computing: 2 day course

Day 1:   4th March 2020

Day 2:   29th April 2020       Venue: Innovation Centre, Bradford

Summary: This course complements the 1 day programming and algorithm course. During this 2 day course you will develop your knowledge of internet-connected computer systems, look at data collection, analysis and projects as well as creating digital content and online safety. You will take away a number of engaging ways to use computers and software to support other areas of the curriculum.

Teaching and Leading Key Stage 2 Computing: 2 day course

Day 1:  1st April 2020

Day 2:  20th May 2020        Venue: The Innovation Centre, Bradford 

Summary: This course complements the 1 day programming and algorithm course. During this 2 day course you will develop your knowledge of computer systems and networks, the internet and technologies that use search engines and email. You will look at demystifying computers, have a look at binary and how a computer handles data to complete tasks. How to combine the use of applications to support project work, and aiding pupils to select the right tool for the job.

Primary programming and algorithms: 1 day course

Date:  22nd April                  Venue: The Innovation Centre, Bradford

Summary: This course is designed to be completed after one of the above courses. During this one day course you will discover ways to help children use computational thinking, how to develop their knowledge of how technology works, and the skills to create simple programs. The day will look at the importance of using unplugged activities as well as multimedia activities.

Priority state-funded schools 1 FREE place on each course is available. A fee of £35 per day for additional person(s) from priority state-funded schools and non-priority state-funded schools.
