Important information for schools regarding 2020-21 FFT Aspire subscriptions.

The Schools Forum decided in its meeting on 16 October 2019 to continue de-delegation from the Primary Phase to purchase FFT Aspire licences for all maintained Primary Schools for the 2020-21 Financial year.  The Schools Forum decided again to not continue de-delegation for this purpose from the Secondary Phase.

Recognising the substantial saving that collective purchase brings, the Local Authority would again like to offer Primary Academy, Free Schools and Secondary Schools that wish to use FFT Aspire in 2020-21 the opportunity to purchase a subscription at a discounted rate through the Local Authority.  Another benefit of purchasing FFT Aspire through the Local Authority is the access to complimentary training sessions that are delivered by FFT trainers and support with administering school accounts.

Primary Academies/Free Schools

The cost of purchasing a 2020-21 FFT Aspire subscription for the Primary phase through the Local Authority is charged at £0.74 + VAT per pupil (based on the 2019 Spring school census NOR).  Purchasing a Primary phase FFT Aspire subscription via the Local Authority can represent a saving of over 50% compared to purchasing directly with FFT.

Primary Academies/Free Schools that wish to purchase via the Local Authority must place an order via the Skills4Bradford website by Friday 17 January 2020.  Primary Academies/Free Schools that do not confirm that they wish to purchase an FFT Aspire licence through the Local Authority, but still wish to access FFT Aspire after 1 April 2020, will need to purchase their licence directly from FFT at a substantially higher cost.

All LA maintained Primary Schools will automatically continue to be able to access FFT Aspire after 1 April 2020, therefore no further action is required by these schools.  The Skills4Bradford website will show £0 as the cost.

Secondary Schools

The cost of purchasing a 2020-21 FFT Aspire subscription for the Secondary phase through the Local Authority is charged at £0.75 + VAT per pupil (based on the 2019 Spring school census NOR) and a fixed cost of £525 + VAT .  Purchasing a Secondary phase FFT Aspire subscription via the Local Authority can represent a saving of over 20% compared to purchasing directly with FFT.

Secondary Schools and Academies that wish to purchase via the Local Authority must place an order via the Skills4Bradford website by Friday 17 January 2020.  Secondary Schools and Academies that do not confirm that they wish to purchase an FFT Aspire subscription through the Local Authority, but still wish access FFT Aspire after 1 April 2020, will need to purchase their subscription directly from FFT at a substantially higher cost.

The Local Authority can only purchase FFT Aspire at the discounted price by the phase of education, therefore if the number of Secondary Phase Schools that decide to purchase FFT Aspire from the Local Authority does not cover the cost of purchasing the Secondary Phase FFT Aspire package from FFT it will not be Financial ly viable to offer the service to Secondary Phase Schools.  It is therefore important that Schools confirm if they want to purchase FFT Aspire by the deadline of Friday 17 January 2020 so that a decision can be made as to whether Secondary Phase Schools will need to subscribe directly with FFT.
