A careers fair offering students a chance to explore the wide range of careers opportunities open to them across the health and care sector in the Bradford and Craven districts is due to take place on 4 March 2020.

Held at Bradford University Student Central, the aim is to give children in school Years 9 to 13 (students aged 13- to 18) valuable information about careers and opportunities in health and social care.

The district has much to offer our young people - not just in terms of clinical, diagnostic and direct care roles - but in other areas such as community support, IT, research, business and administrative functions.

As well as the main careers fair, there will also be a number of practical workshops, health and wellbeing information, support for young careers and much more.

The event will also help schools and colleges support the Personal, Health, Social and Citizenship (PHSCE) curriculum.

‘Growing our own’ is one of the key foundations of our Bradford District and Craven health and care workforce strategy and we are actively working with schools and colleges to raise awareness to the wide range of career and job role opportunities so we can encourage young people to join our workforce in the future.

Careers Fair 2020 is organised by local NHS organisations, the Local Authority, the voluntary, independent and community sector, in partnership with Bradford College and Bradford University.

All local schools and colleges are welcome to bring their students along. HERE is some further information about the event, including details of timings and how to book. If you have any questions about the event, please email communications@bradford.nhs.uk.
