We will be doing maintenance to our website systems on Sunday, 31 January. Despite the ongoing situation with Covid-19 it is essential that we maintain the security of our systems. This will help us continue to deliver vital public health messages and information about council services via our website and allow you all to access our services using online forms. The work should be done with little disruption to you and any interruption should be short. If you do have problems accessing the site or something doesn’t work on Sunday, please try again later.
Inspired by @TotallyMaths, I introduced my Y5 class to maths journaling. A resounding success. Really useful pupil practice, GD challenged themselves, was fab AFL and required very little prep. The children really enjoyed it and produced some of the best work I've seen so far.
This course will consider the benefits of using journaling to record mathematical ideas and show understanding – an approach used in Singapore. Teachers will have the opportunity to look at examples of pupils’ learning journals from a range of year groups, understand how this approach complements the teaching for mastery approach and see how the course leader uses journaling with a group of pupils from Parkland Primary School.
