Bradford Cathedral will be opening its doors on Sunday 15th September as part of the national Heritage Open Days week that takes place annually, this year celebrating the theme of People Power.

From 12noon – 3pm you’ll be able to explore the history of the cathedral through tours, talks and give-it-a-go activities.

Maggie Myers, the Director of Education and Visitors, will be giving tours of the Cathedral, at 12:30pm and 2pm with Bradford Cathedral volunteer and Civil War vlogger Catherine Warr providing a history of the Battle of the Steeple throughout the day.

There will also be the chance to discover more about bell-ringer Joe Hardcastle with Diane Hadwen, member of the education team, and look through some of the exciting historical artefacts kept within the cathedral.

Visitors will also be able to head up to the bell-ringing room with tower captain Ron Crabtree and there will be colouring activities, quizzes and trails during the open day for children and families to take part in.

You can pre-book your place for the main guided tours now, and you can sign up for the tower tours on the day.
