This course is designed for teaching assistants to enable them to understand how they can draw on familiar classroom materials to support learning in mathematics. It will support the development of professional subject knowledge as well as knowledge for supporting learners.

Outline - This course is designed for teaching assistants to enable them to understand how they can draw on familiar classroom materials to support learning in mathematics. Whilst this course is most suitable for TAs anyone interested in understanding how mathematical concrete resources are used to ensure pupils develop understanding of the four operations for arithmetic. The course will support the development of professional subject knowledge as well as knowledge for supporting learners.
