Community Action Bradford & District, in partnership with Participate Projects and City of Bradford Metropolitan District's 'People Can' campaign, are pleased to be hosting a Funding and Advice Fair in aid of Small Charities Week. The event is open to all
VCSE groups, individuals and professionals, with a particular focus on groups with an annual income of less than £1m.
Dr Soo Nevison, CEO of Community Action Bradford & District says "About 80% of the organisations we support do not have any paid workers and fund themselves through small grants, so it is very difficult for them to access the tailored, one-on-one support
they so desperately need to stay afloat and support their communities. We want to do as much as we can to enable them to thrive, part of it is events like this where we get the opportunity to put everybody in a room, and help them get the most out of it in
a short space of time."
The Funding and Advice Fair will take place at the Great Victoria Hotel, Bridge Street, BD1 1JX, and will open at 10:00. It will run until 15:30 with a packed agenda throughout the day. The event will host a range of local, regional and national charity
funders who will have stalls and talk about current and future opportunities; infrastructure support organisations such as Community Action, Volunteering Bradford and Participate will be in attendance; and other organisations will be giving workshops and advice
on the following topics:
Marketing and Social Media
Community Asset Transfer
Impact Reporting
Charity Law
Insurance
Finance including Gift Aid, HMRC, Cash Handling
Buildings and Building Management
No booking necessary, just turn up on the day and ask any questions you may have.
Small Charities Week takes place from the 17th to the 22nd June 2019, with the Big Advice Day occurring on the second day, Tuesday 18th June. The aim is to provide as much support to small charities as possible.
