Time: - | Venue:

An opportunity for schools to explore the rarely seen original illustrations and early manuscripts by Beatrix Potter from the ‘Tale of Peter Rabbit’ in a new exhibition at Cartwright Hall Art Gallery. Developed in partnership with Penguin Ventures an The River and Rowing Museum.

Cartwright Hall Art Gallery and the River and Rowing Museum hope to encourage audiences of all ages to enjoy and learn more about the work of Beatrix Potter. Bunnies will be bouncing all over the gallery, as Peter Rabbit hops, skips and jumps right off the page in an interactive exhibition about Beatrix Potter’s most famous creation. Generations of children have grown up with Peter Rabbit, from reading the original tales to watching the current TV animation.

Visitors can help Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle hang up the laundry. Children can dress up as Peter Rabbit, curl up with a book in the story corner or enjoy planting carrots in Mr. McGregors’s garden.

Use our resources for Primary and Secondary schools to support self-guided visits and inspire activities back at school. There are many ways for you and your class to make the most of our special exhibitions. Schools can book in alongside the general public for teacher-led visits throughout the run of the exhibition (book via 01274 431212 if over 8 in a group), or book for selected dates. We also offer facilitated visits and sessions alongside selected exhibitions.
