Trips and holidays can be to the countryside or a city, but must be within the UK and outside of children’s immediate localities. Examples include camping, trips to adventure activity centres or the seaside.
"We cannot fund overseas trips or holidays, trips for children over the age of 13, trip to pantomimes, theme parks or similar high cost attractions, trips that focus on education rather than fun, multiple trips, trips for families or for individual children,
or the running costs of play or holiday schemes."
The funder prioritises applications that will benefit disadvantaged or disabled children living in the most deprived areas of the UK. For holiday grants this means areas in the bottom 20% according to the National Indices of Deprivation.
"We can be more flexible on levels of deprivation where disabled children are involved, but it will still be one factor in our assessment.
