Safeguarding Information for Designated Safeguarding Leads

Designated Safeguarding Leads should be aware of the prevalence across the media and social media of concern about 'internet challenges'. Without wishing to publicise the particular challenge currently mentioned, schools should be aware that some parents will be concerned. Please take this as an opportunity to re-educate any young people about the importance of staying safe online.

Parents should be encouraged not to panic, but to talk to their children about all aspects of their online world and explain any potential dangers. Excellent advice is available on the CEOP Thinkuknow website https://www.thinkuknow.co.uk. Please follow safeguarding procedures if a child has been harmed, or is likely to suffer harm.
