Take 15 minutes to support child health research – plus the chance to win an Amazon voucher Primary heads, teachers and TAs: a research team at Leeds University is trying to reduce the cost and time it takes for schools to assess child motor skills.

If you have a spare 10-15 minutes, you can complete a questionnaire that will help them develop a new tool.

You can complete the questionnaire here: https://leedspsychology.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_dbrGcRgerzVni97. Participants will have the opportunity to enter a prize draw to win one of three £20 Amazon vouchers.

Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS) are a group of foundational motor skills, which provide the basis for the development of more complex movements. Research has shown that FMS are an important aspect of early childhood development. Current FMS assessment tools are time intensive (e.g. take 1 hour per child) and cost a lot to purchase (approximately £800) and thus there are challenges to using them in schools. The opinions of teachers will be invaluable to the development of a new school-based FMS assessment tool.

If you have any questions, please do contact one of the research team: Lucy Eddy (L.Eddy@leeds.ac.uk), Dr Liam Hill (L.J.Hill@leeds.ac.uk) or Dr Daniel Bingham (Daniel.Bingham@bthft.nhs.uk).
