Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS) are a group of foundational motor skills, which provide the basis for the development of more complex movements. Research has shown that FMS are an important aspect of early childhood development. Current FMS assessment
tools are time intensive (e.g. take 1 hour per child) and cost a lot to purchase (approximately £800) and thus there are challenges to using them in schools. The opinions of teachers will be invaluable to the development of a new school-based FMS assessment
tool.
If you have any questions, please do contact one of the research team: Lucy Eddy (L.Eddy@leeds.ac.uk), Dr Liam Hill (L.J.Hill@leeds.ac.uk) or Dr Daniel Bingham
(Daniel.Bingham@bthft.nhs.uk).
