This is a full day training course on the effects of developmental trauma upon the child’s ability to learn and manage the school environment. This course is being funded by the Virtual School for Children Looked After.

It is aimed at school staff who work with children who are looked after or have been previously looked after.

What will the course cover?

  • The impact of developmental trauma in the classroom – how early life neglect and abuse shapes brain development and the child’s ability to learn
  • Theraplay® informed practice and its practical application to the classroom
