Course outline;
The day will include reflection upon the theorists and research which has influenced the current mathematical approaches and how children learn and develop between birth and five years. We will consider how creating appropriate environments can support the development of mathematical thinking and mathematical graphics and how practitioner’s interactions with children can support children’s understanding. We will look at the big mathematical concepts and mathematical vocabulary and how using stories and rhymes can contextual Mathematics.
Practitioners will leave with audits to complete to support their practice when they return to their settings.
