It's not to late to enter the City of Bradford Festival of Talent 2019

There is still time to enter the City of Bradford Festival of Talent. The closing date is Friday 18th January 2019 and we really don't want you to miss out.  We have heard that maybe you don't know about this Competition so if that's the case, let us tell you a little.

It was started in 2014/15 when Mrs Elizabeth Sharp was the Lady Mayoress of Bradford and making this the fifth year of its inception.

It is a free-to-enter competition organised in two age groups, primary and secondary, and is open to all students who would like the chance to perform and display their talent to a wider audience.  Anything goes as regards performance - soloists, duos, groups, choirs, bands.  Vocalists, dancers, instrumentalists, all are welcome.

There is only one rule and that is that all performances must be created by the performers themselves and not by teachers.  Teachers can, however, be involved in the acts as accompanists and conductors.  No act should last longer than four minutes.

Heats are held in school, and no more than four acts are eligible to take part in the Semi-finals.  These will be held at the Bradford Hotel on Friday 15th February.  We want an audience and admission to the events is free.

We aim to make the events as "showbizzy" as possible.  We are firmly committed to producing a platform for youngsters to perform in whatever discipline they have embraced.

A panel of experts will decide upon the qualifiers/winners and every finalist will receive a named certificate.  Both winners, (one in each age group) will receive a keepsake trophy, as will the two runners-up.  The winners will also receive an invitation to take part in the Schools Prom and will also be invited to a civic reception at City Hall with the Lord Mayor.

All personnel connected with the Festival of Talent are volunteers, even the judges.  No adjudications are given, either in written or verbal form.

This is a huge community event and one that is held in considerable esteem by all participants, parents, schools, educational services and the Music and Arts Service.

We want you to be included so please consider it and download the entry form here, once completed, please return the entry form to: elizabeth.sharp360@btinternet.com as soon as you can, even if at this moment you do not know who you will be sending.

We hope you have a wonderful Christmas and we really look forward hopefully to hearing from you very soon.

Kind regards

Elizabeth Sharp (Chair), Claire Heathcliff (Deputy Chair) & Emmerson Walgrove (Deputy Chair)
