Training: Maximising Memory and the Science of Learning

In this three day course, delegates will examine how best to design lessons, curricula and revision so that students remember. We will put the evidence from cognitive science to work.

New GCSEs and A Levels have significantly more content, have an increased challenge and are as high stakes as ever. Drawing on the latest research into memory and the science of learning, this course is designed to equip school leaders and teachers with the evidence based tools to tackle the demands of the new exams.

Over the course of three days, delegates will explore the best available evidence and reflect on its application in their own context. They will examine how best to design lessons, curricula and revision so that students remember.

  • Day One – Friday 7th December
  • Day Two – Monday 4th February
  • Day Three – Thursday 2nd May

This course will be particularly useful for current and aspiring subject leaders, but the principles will apply for all teachers and school leaders. The focus will be on terminal examinations: GCSE and A Level.

The course costs £295 for all three days and will be held at Dixons Cottingley Academy. Schools can send an additional delegate for £75.
