A course at The Innovation Centre, Bradford

This is a modular course for teachers who are new to Year 5 or Year 6 or for those who would like to be introduced to a range of engaging teaching and revision techniques to help them to prepare for the end of KS2 assessments in 2019 and beyond. Year 5 teachers are encouraged to attend with (or without) Year 6 colleagues so that in depth revision and preparation can spread over two years.

Participants can sign up for all, or part, of the course. The modules are:

Day 1 - 15 November 2018:

9.00 am – 3.30 pm – Planning an effective teaching sequence for fiction in Year 5 and Year 6 and statutory assessment overview

Free book, teaching sequence and resources: there will be a free copy of a quality children’s book and associated resources for participants to take away at the end of day 1

Day 2 - 17 January 2019:

9.00 am – 3.30 pm - Teaching poetry, non-fiction and reading and writing across the curriculum.

Spelling in Year 5 and Year 6 – digital and paper and pen ideas to revise the Year 3/4 curriculum and prepare for the test in Year 6 featuring guest presenter, Tim Bleazard, from The Innovation Centre.

Full, two day course  – £300 + VAT

Day 1 only  – £170 + VAT

Day 2 only  – £170 + VAT
