To be completed by: Thu 13 Sep 2018

Time: -Thu 13 Sep 2018 | Venue:

Mathematics is a very important subject for the life chances of children. A good mathematics education is critical in developing problem solving and decision making skills. Leading maths in a school can be a challenging experience.

We are still facing the fight against ‘I can’t do maths’ and ‘maths is hard’. This course is designed to support the new (and not so new) subject leader in developing and leading maths across the Primary school. The five half day sessions, complemented by gap tasks back in school, will include:

  • Knowing your school
  • Leading by example
  • Having a vision and deciding upon mathematics curriculum plans for your school
  • How to spot weaker mathematics teaching in school and how to improve it
  • Analysing SAT papers and finding children’s gaps to set foci and address misconceptions

Sharon Day, will be leading each session of the course.

The course consists of five 2 hour sessions, spread out throughout the year, delegates are required to attend each session.  The first session is on the 9th October 2018, please click here for the full schedule of dates and costs.

Bookings can be made by emailling or by telephone 01274 568361
