Hi Bradford Headteachers
My name is James Procter and I was headteacher at Silsden Primary School (Hothfield Junior School) until the summer. I am now working for the West Yorkshire Maths Hub as Assistant Maths Lead for Bradford.
The West Yorkshire Maths Hub is keen to reach as many Bradford schools as possible to support you on your journey towards developing the 'Mastery Approach' to maths teaching in your school. Several Bradford schools have been on the Teaching for Mastery
programme in the last two years or are going to start this year. We now aim to try and reach those of you who are yet to embark on this journey.
WY Maths Hub work is DfE funded and so all support is free for schools.
We are currently looking to recruit schools for a 'Mastery Readiness' programme to begin later this term. This is an excellent opportunity to support you if you are at the beginning of your journey towards implementing the 'mastery approach'. Involvement
in the programme is for the Maths Subject Lead plus one other member of staff and gives you access to bespoke support for your school from a Mastery Specialist teacher - and
all for free!
In addition there are other opportunities to join a Work Group to develop a particular aspect of mastery/ individual teachers/TAs who need to develop their maths subject knowledge/understanding of mastery. Again, this is all funded and at no cost
to you as a school.
If you are interested or would just like to know a bit more about how the WYHub can help you, then I would love to come and chat with you about it. Please contact me at j.procter@trinitymat.org and
I'll get back to you ASAP.
