We will be doing maintenance to our website systems on Sunday, 31 January. Despite the ongoing situation with Covid-19 it is essential that we maintain the security of our systems. This will help us continue to deliver vital public health messages and information about council services via our website and allow you all to access our services using online forms. The work should be done with little disruption to you and any interruption should be short. If you do have problems accessing the site or something doesn’t work on Sunday, please try again later.
The University of Bradford students union is developing a programme for local schools for children in Key Stages 2, 3 & 4. The programme includes university students from around the world running workshops and classes to show pupils that there is more to university than just lectures and partying
The programme has already been run for Dixons McMillan Academy and Henshaws College and feedback from both students and staff was positive. The programme will run from October to December and then from February April (depending on our students availability). The University of Bradford sports, societies and interest groups will be running the workshops and so schools experience will be slightly different. All workshops will involve moving around, team work and interacting with new people. All of the workshops will be held at the University of Bradford student union or Grange Interlink which is walking distance. There would be a small cost to attend so that the students can cover costs. At the moment we are offering half day sessions (2 workshops and a short tour of campus) for £40 and a full day (4-6 workshops and a tour of campus) for £75. The maximum number of students we would be able to take varies depending on the age of the students and the workshops taking place. To book a place, email A.Stone1@bradford.ac.uk
