This is the first in a series of FREE practical CPD events supporting primary & secondary teachers in better use of local heritage to engage learners and improve learning, providing:
- Guidance and practical activities on why, when, where and how local heritage can be effectively used to support a broad and balnced curriculum, with specific cross curricular examples including literacy, numeracy and SMSC
- Support in finding out what's worth knowing in your locality
- Practical help with planning and resourcing your local heritage projects
- An opportunity to meet with local heritage and cultural partners
- Information on how the National Heritage Schools Programme can:
- provide free bespoke resources for your school including map and aerial photograph packs
- facilitate partnership with your heritage partners and access to funded local projects
- provide funding and further support for heritage projects
- help access a National Heriatge Schools Award
