The government has committed to fund over 3,000 places on the Youth MHFA One Day course over three years, so that by 2020 at least one person in every state secondary school in England has MHFA skills.
One representative from each invited school may attend a course.
The Youth Mental Health First Aid in Schools Programme is fully funded by the Department of Health with a value of £200pp.
Date: 4th June 2018
Time: 8.45am-5pm (prompt start and finish)
Location: Bingley Grammar School
Thank you to Bingley Grammar School which has kindly agreed to host the course at no additional cost.
By attending the Youth MHFA One Day course, candidates will develop practical skills to identify a range of mental health issues and support a young person to get the help they need. The course will provide an understanding around the issues that relate to
young people’s mental health and will boost their knowledge and confidence in dealing with mental health issues on a first aid basis. Senior staff are usually best placed to attend as they are then able to establish a 'whole school approach'.
Please identify one person in your school to attend the course and provide us with the following details by 25.05.18
Course Date and venue
Contact telephone number
Please note, places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Delegates must be able to stay for the entirety of the course otherwise, they will not be issued a certificate. If you are not able to stay for the whole day, please do consider delegating your
place to someone who can.
Failure to attend a course you are confirmed on may incur a cancellation charge of 50% of the value of the course (£200).
We would also very much appreciate your support in sharing best practice, so please consider whether your school would be willing to act as a case study for the training and where requested, provide comments on how the training has benefited the school, its
staff and students. Please let us know if this is something you would consider being a part of and we will keep your details on file.
