Participants will learn about communication theory and are given a course book full of practical strategies to use immediately in the classroom. Most importantly, they will understand how and why to use these strategies to support any child in accessing
the curriculum, become an independent learner and improve their social skills. A portfolio of work and interventions with the children embeds the teaching and this is then assessed and marked by the Elklan tutor enabling delegates to achieve a level 3 accreditation.
Learners will need a further half a day per week in school to complete portfolio tasks.
