Bradford Council is to be granted 'White Ribbon Local Authority Award' accreditation at a high-profile event on Tuesday 5 December (1.30pm-4.00pm) at the Banqueting
Hall, City Hall, Bradford.
The event is to celebrate the council’s commitment to a two-year action plan which seeks to raise awareness – internally and externally – about male violence towards women, and to encourage men and boys to play their part in eradicating such violence. However,

Alongside Bradford Council, the key organisations already accredited in Bradford are Bradford College, Oasis Academy – Lister Park, and West Yorkshire Police. Representatives of all of these organisations will be present as well as volunteer White
Ribbon Ambassadors from across the council and the district.
Speakers will include Kersten England - Chief Executive of Bradford Council,
Chief Superintendent Scott Bissett, Cllr Abdul Jabar - Portfolio Holder, Chris Green OBE
(Founder of White Ribbon UK) and the Key Note Speaker is Nazir Afsal OBE (former Chief Crown Prosecutor).
Light refreshments will be provided.
It would be fantastic if yourself or a senior representative from your school was available to attend - the earlier we engage young men and boys in these issues the more difference we can make.
Please note that places are limited, so to avoid dissapointment please contact me as soon as possible.
