B'healthy programmes for 12 plus children and their families across the district

We are writing to let you know that we have four family weight management programmes commencing in the New Year for children aged 12 years and over.  The programme lasts for 6 weeks, with each session lasting 2 hours; the first hour will be for parents and children to learn about being healthy through fun activities and will include information on the eatwell guide, portion sizes, label reading, healthy lunches, physical activity, goal setting and behaviour change. 

The second hour the children will take part in a fun physical activity session whilst the parents remain in the classroom to obtain further knowledge on how to support their child to maintain a healthy weight. 

The programmes will take place at;

Newby Primary School, Ryan Street, West Bowling, Bradford, BD5 7DQ

Commencing Wednesday 10th January, 5.00pm – 7.00pm (for 6 weeks)

One in a Million School, Cliffe Terrace, Bradford, BD8 7DX.

Commencing Thursday 11th January, 5.00pm – 7.00pm (for 6 weeks)

Karmand Centre, Barkerend Rd, Bradford BD3 9EP

Commencing Saturday 13th January, 10.00am – 12.00pm (for 6 weeks)

Victoria Hall, Hard Ings Rd, Keighley BD21 3JN

Commencing Tuesday 20th February, 5.00pm – 7.00pm (for 6 weeks)

Parents/carers are able to self refer to the programme or alternatively, if you would like to refer a child to one of these programmes please call the Health Improvement team on 01274 435387.
